Since June 2021, Megi Fino serves as Deputy Minister in the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. She possesses an extensive academic background, having completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma program in Beijing in 2012, before pursuing law at City, University of London. She earned a Master’s degree (LLM) in Public International Law, followed by a Professional Master’s Degree in Legal Practice (LPC). In 2015, she also obtained a Diploma in Chinese (Mandarin) from SOAS University of London. Ms. Fino began her professional career as a legal advisor specializing in immigration law, working with international law firms and legal service entities. She gained significant experience in providing legal counsel on welfare benefits entitlement and other related areas during her studies and early career. From 2018, she worked as a lawyer at CMS Adonnino Ascoli & Cavasola Scamoni, an international law firm in Tirana, before transitioning to the role of Regulatory Expert in the Legal and External Relations Department at Vodafone Albania. In 2021, Ms. Fino designed the Integrity Index as part of the UNDP's STAR 3 project on local governance reform, where she served as an integrity consultant. This project aimed at improving transparency and accountability in local governance structures. Since June 2025, Ms. Fino serves as Chair of the City Council of Tirana. Megi Fino is also pursuing her PhD at Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) and is a Fellow of the European Security and Defence College Doctoral School. Her research focuses on the extent to which Albania’s Alignment with CFSP and CSDP influences its EU Integration. She speaks English and Spanish fluently and has a good grasp of Chinese (mandarin), Italian and Greek language.
